FACT (formerly Salt & Pegram) was established to enable Architects, Designers and Commercial End Users to source, procure and deliver design led furniture for their corporate environments.

FACT recognised that their business model was a contributor to the climate crisis and decided it was time to pivot and make a positive impact on decarbonisation within the built environment. We have done this by

We ensure our direct use of energy is entirely carbon neutral electricity.

We measure and target a reduction in our scope 2 + 3 emissions.

We have set up an incubator scheme to support businesses with strong climate and social objectives to enter our market.

FACT advocate for the specification of used furniture whilst aligning the new and second-hand suppliers.

FACT supports clients and suppliers to reduce our combined scope 3 emissions.

FACT Incentivises employees to reduce their own carbon emissions and giving extra days off to those that participate in action against climate change

FACT includes a clause in all our supplier code of conduct encouraging these groups to measure and reduce their own emissions.

FACT’s biggest impact lies in how we spend our clients’ money – here too we have an extensive engagement programme encouraging companies that we partner with in to set demanding carbon reduction targets and report on their progress.

FACT have had to make challenging decisions in how we do business. We have had to interrogate all partners and their products. Additionally, we have had to convince our clients that making the easy choices is often not the correct ones.

FACT’s biggest challenge is to minimise our scope 3 emissions and has been more difficult than expected. Where we are major clients to our suppliers, we have had more leverage to insist they take steps towards net-zero. However, with our larger suppliers, we are still awaiting significant action.
